Class B certified, meeting demanding electromagnetic standards

How carefully do you choose the electronics you use in your home? Electromagnetic safety is critical, especially if you have children or sensitive devices around. Impact's LED displays meet this need perfectly, providing a reliable and durable solution for your home. Class B authenticationfor the first time.

What is Class B certification?

Class B certification is one of the electromagnetic emissions (EMI) limits defined by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and national regulatory agencies. It ensures that the electromagnetic interference (EMI) that an electronic product radiates to its surroundings is kept at acceptable levels, even in sensitive environments. Class B certification is primarily intended for electronic devices used in sensitive environments such as homes, schools, and hospitals.

What is EMC testing?

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing is the process of ensuring that an electronic device does not generate electromagnetic interference (EMI) and can function normally in the presence of externally generated electromagnetic interference. The test is divided into two main aspects

  • EMI Electromagnetic Radiation Testing (Electromagnetic Interference)

Ensure that the electromagnetic waves emitted by the device during operation do not exceed regulatory standards.

  • EMS Immunity Testing (Electromagnetic Susceptibility)

Evaluate how well your device can withstand electromagnetic interference from outside sources (e.g., radio signals, radio waves, etc.).

EMC testing is an important procedure that determines if a product is eligible for Class A or Class B certification, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility and reliability of the product.

Difference between Class A and Class B
  • Class A

Intended for products used in industrial, commercial, and non-residential environments.
EMI tolerance is higher than Class B, making it suitable for use in non-sensitive environments.

  • Class B

Intended for home use and sensitive environments.
Tighter EMI tolerances minimize the potential for interference with peripherals.

Benefits of Class B certification
  • Broad coverage

Class B certified products can be used safely in sensitive environments such as homes, hospitals, and schools. This gives you the opportunity to expand your market to a wider range of customers. For example, hospitals can minimize interference with sensitive medical equipment, making them safe to use in healthcare environments.

  • Improve reliability

Products with Class B certification have fewer electromagnetic interference issues and are less likely to conflict with neighboring devices. This ensures reliable performance and prevents unexpected issues that customers may encounter while using your product.

  • Regulatory compliance

Class B certified products meet the standards for radio frequency laws and EMI regulations in each country, giving you access to global markets. This means you can save time and money during international trading and exporting.

Why Class B certification is important

Electromagnetic waves can affect your body and the devices around you without you even realizing it. Especially in the home, where many devices are used simultaneously, such as TVs, Wi-Fi, smartphones, and more, products that minimize electromagnetic interference are essential. Class B certification addresses these issues, Making choices that prioritize your family's health and safety.
